Swisscom Deploys First Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Home Gateway in Switzerland with SoftAtHome

Swisscom Repeaters

PARIS, France – 7 July 2025 – SoftAtHome, an independent software company specialising in broadband, video, and analytics, proudly announces its role in powering Swisscom’s latest home connectivity innovation: the WLAN-Box 5 and WLAN-Box 5 Pro repeaters. These are the first Wi-Fi 7 repeaters launched by Swisscom, complementing the Internet-Box 5 gateway family released earlier this year.

The WLAN-Box 5 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7-certified repeater, while the WLAN-Box 5 Pro is a premium tri-band model. Designed to match the cutting-edge Internet-Box 5 and Internet-Box 5 Pro gateways, these devices provide Swiss homes with enhanced wireless coverage, high-speed connectivity, and future-ready performance.

The WLAN-Box 5 Pro delivers up to 10 Gbps Ethernet and support Wi-Fi 7 technology, including Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 320 MHz channels, and 4K QAM. These capabilities ensure a smooth and powerful experience for streaming, gaming, and smart home devices.

As part of Wifi’ON product offer, SoftAtHome’s patented Zero Touch Pairing simplifies installation: users scan a QR code from the My Swisscom App, and the repeater connects automatically, with no buttons to press and no configuration needed.

Sustainability is also at the core of the WLAN-Box 5 series. Both models feature PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic housings and power units, and are certified with the TÜV Green Product label, underlining Swisscom’s commitment to environmentally responsible innovation.

“We are proud to support Swisscom in extending their leadership with the first Wi-Fi 7 repeaters in Switzerland, thanks to our Wifi’ON product,” said Lionel Gremeau, Marketing Product Director at SoftAtHome. “WLAN-Box 5 series combines performance, ease of use, and sustainability, three pillars of tomorrow’s connected home experience.”

“With the introduction of the WLAN-Box 5 and WLAN-Box 5 Pro repeaters, Swisscom continues to set new standards in home connectivity. These Wi-Fi 7 repeaters, developed with SoftAtHome, ensure our customers benefit from the latest wireless performance and the most stable Internet in every room of their home,” said Marcel Burgherr, Head of Home Devices at Swisscom.

The WLAN-Box 5 and WLAN-Box 5 Pro repeaters were commercially launched in Switzerland on June 25, 2025.
